Bodega macOS · not yet released

AI can now use your computer. Bodega makes it ask first.

What it is

New AI tools can open, change and delete your files on their own. Bodega puts you in front of every one of those actions: you see what it wants to do, and you decide.

01

Why it exists

You can only use what you can control.

Plenty of people want an AI working on their own computer. Far fewer will hand one the keys, because giving something access to your machine means trusting whatever it does next, sight unseen.

Bodega is how you say yes. Every action comes to you before it happens, so putting an agent to work isn’t one leap taken all at once — it’s a series of small decisions that stay yours.

02

What it does

It asks first
Before the AI touches a file, you see exactly what it wants to do, in plain language — and you say yes or no.
No means no
When you refuse, nothing happens. It can’t be undone later or worked around, because the AI never gets that far.
Deletes go to a safe box
If you allow a delete, the file isn’t destroyed — it’s held for a day, so the decision isn’t final. You can get it back.
03

What it looks like

A run, after someone typed: tidy up the old drafts in this folder
[+]read the folderdone
[+]read Drafts/notes.mddone
[?]delete Drafts/2024waiting for you
[x]delete Drafts/2024you said no — nothing was deleted
Every action stops here. You decide. Nothing happens until you say yes.
04

Off-limits

Some things have no yes button at all.

Your passwords and keys. The AI cannot reach them, no matter what. There is no button to allow it.

This applies to the AI working inside Bodega. It doesn’t change what you, or other apps, can do on your own.

05

What to expect

  • It’s brand new and not yet perfect.
  • It only runs on Mac right now.
  • It isn’t released yet, and it isn’t signed, so your Mac will warn you when it opens.
